(3) English soprano Florence Easton (South Bank: 25 Oct 1882 - New York: 13 Aug 1955) as Cio-Cio-San. As a very skilled and intelligent singer, she was often called upon at the last moment to sing difficult roles she had never rehearsed during her thirteen seasons at the Metropolitan Opera. Her versatility made her a favorite of the management and audiences alike.

(7) Russian tenor Ivan Vasilyevich Ershov [Yershov] (Novocherkassk: 1867[8]-1943) studied with the Russian Stanislav Gabel at St. Petersburg Conservatory and with the noted Italian instructor Ernesto Rossi. He made his debut (1893) in St. Petersburg in Faust. He spent many years (1895-1929) at the Mariinsky Theatre, where he had a very successful career. He had a large repertory which included many Russian, Italian, and Wagnerian roles. Although his voice was flawed, he compensated for those defects through his musicianship. Depending on the demands of the music, he was able to sing dramatically or with delicate lyricism. As if it was not enough to define his character with his voice, he was also a creative and sensitive actor with matinee-idol looks, which made him enormously popular with his audiences. He was also a successful concert and lied singer. After he retired from the stage he taught at the Leningrad Conservatory.

(9) French soprano Cecile Eyreams (1874-?). She joined the Opèra-Comique in 1894 after studies at the Paris Conservatory. She was a favorite at the Comique in soubrette roles, creating many of them for house premieres. She appeared at the Monnaie between 1902 and 1910, as well as the provincial theaters in Lyons and Marseille. In 1918 she made her Paris Opèra debut and continued to sing her soubrette roles there. This postcard was published by S.I.P., Series 50, number 20.
