Arena di Verona

In 1913 the summer opera seasons in Verona's Roman Arena began with a performance of Aida. Except for the interruption of the two World Wars, Verona has enjoyed sell-out audiences in the Arena every year to this day. Postcards advertising this performances in the Arena date from the 1920s and are found today in the modern continental-sized format.

Another example can be found under Singers - C1, featuring Del Monaco and Callas.
